Yeah! I became a fighting vehicle owner! 1938 Opel Kadet Der Kleine Panzer!

Today is a perfect day, an old dream came thru, I found a wartime vehicle!!! Kübels and Jeeps are crazy expensive novadays, so I hunted for an Opel of the era since some years. Jeeps are so cold because no roof, and they drink a lot of fuel, so a little Opel is the possible way for me. Now I found the perfect project! Not immaculate, but the bodywork nearly done. Many parts missing, but the most important pieces are there (driving components, seats, etc...) Yes, my plan is not a show restration, but a fighting vehicle, with some dings and scratches on the 3-tone camo! Now I giong to hunt for period photograps of camuflaged examples and for the missing parts...

ICM Opel Kapitan 1/35

I choosen this grey one as it is a rare sunroofed version. I could not find more info about the "faltdach", so I used my memory about a Webasto VW sunroof made in late '40s. Webasto used wood-rails, and 2-3 fold depending on the lenght of the hole. So this car is a bit for fantasy category, but hope it is not so faar from the reality. I will paint it grey, as on the period picture.
As usually happens, I found another picture later (in a book at home...), what is more interesting... Its sunroof is a field modification maybe?
Moreover, an other two door sunroofed sedan.  With a great camo naturally...
Now I keep my original plan, so finish my Kapitan in grey with a bit more of personal stuff on it.

AFV Club M10

Not really like to build tanks novadays, but this model was started when it was a news from AFV Club. I spent a lot of time with the building, so don't want to waist it. Now I added the stowage, but still missing a lot of details. Will finish it on a nice day hopefully.

A nice little collection of WW2 German vehicles in Germany.

We had to pick up a Schwimm body in Germany. The place waited us with some surprises, like nicely restored wartime VWs, Steyr RSOs in "as found" condition and a beautiful Stoewer Kübelsitzwagen. When I seen the huge grey car for first, I turned back to a child immediately... A truly fantastic car!

Kübelwagen stadtrundfahrt in Budapest

It was back in august when we spent a nice afternoon with my friend: Gábor and his Kübel. We took a little but cool sightseeing, looked for some places we know Kübelwagens were photographed under WW2.

Tamiya Austin 10Hp Tilly

To enjoy the hobby, I must choose an easy project sometimes. The Tamiya Tilly is a really good kit, but with the Legend canvas and Hussar wheels looks very realistic! The modelhistory of the Tilly isn't clear for me, I hope could bild a clean early version with the correct details.
Grooved tyres on all 4 corners are visible on very few photograps, as the car rolled down from the assembly line with grooved on the rear but smooth on the front! Hussar makes all the two types separate, so in the package you get 4+1 grooved or cyvilian type. I don't like to mixed set, so fitted the offroad tyres only. The Legend canvas looks so well, but needs some extra work. Early cover had the windows and an openable top piece what is missing from the resin part. I replaced it, but in wrong position, must remake it before paint. I planning to cover the little Austin by "Malta camo", but I know only one, bad quality photograph. So if you have something, please contact me! Thank you!
